From swinging his plastic golf clubs at the age of 2 to powerlifting in college, Ladd has always been active in sports and fitness. Raised in Mesa, AZ, Ladd has always been driven by wanting to help people feel better. With that in mind, he earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Utah State University intending to be a physical therapist. Spending 6 years in clinics working with everything from post surgery rehabilitation to muscular degenerative diseases, Ladd began to see exercise in a new light.
While working in a clinic specializing in treating metabolic disease with exercise, Ladd felt he was on the reactive side of health instead of the proactive side. He then switched career paths last semester of his senior year to pursue a Masters Degree in Strength and Conditioning from Arizona State University. While getting his masters, Ladd began at THP!
As a Performance Specialist and Performance Data Analyst with THP, Ladd is set out to connect the complexity and rigor of scientific research to simple, applicable solutions that fit everyone’s health, fitness, or performance needs. In that pursuit, Ladd created the Golf Total Athlete Score (GTAS), an assessment that accurately identifies power leaks in the golf swing while predicting club head speed.
Outside of his coaching and sport science pursuits, Ladd enjoys reading a good book, spending time with his wife, or discovering a new restaurant.
