Sway and Slide

"Sway and Slide... what is that!?" you might be asking yourself. I'm here to explain!

First, the sway and slide is a breakdown in your single leg stability. It's the ability to stand on your one leg and rotate within a vertical line. When you sway, the hips move behind you as you go into your backswing. When you slide, your hips move in front of you in your backswing. Both when you sway and slide, you lose that line and essentially you lose your power.

Here at Tatum Human Performance, we use the TPI Single Leg Stance test to identify any possible links to sway and slide. The single leg stance will improve your balance and stability and we use the PGA tour standard to train.
